We collaborate with DODD, County Boards of Developmental Disabilities, Children Services, and other support systems to create tailored strategies that promote healing and skill development.

Program Highlights

  • Residential care in fully equipped homes, staffed by trained Direct Support Professionals
  • Access to psychiatric and behavioral solutions (therapists, behavioral specialists, psychiatric nurse practitioners)
  • Coordination with nursing services for safe medication administration and ongoing health education
  • Emphasis on community integration, positive coping skills, and trauma-informed care

Our Alternative Approach
By keeping children near their families and familiar networks, we focus on building crucial life skills and resilience, avoiding out-of-state placements that often disrupt personal growth.

BEHAVIORAL & MENTAL HEALTH

At ViaQuest, we understand that mental health needs vary widely from one individual to the next—so our services do, too. Whether it’s pharmacogenetics to tailor medications to your genetic profile, TeleHealth counseling for support from home, or Deaf Services designed for culturally competent care, each solution is shaped by compassion and expertise. Our Marriage & Family Therapy nurtures healthier relationships, while Facility Services help nursing and assisted living communities enhance residents’ emotional well-being. We also specialize in Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Support, providing mental health and behavioral solutions that respect each person’s unique challenges. Finally, our Continued Education Opportunities ensure professionals remain well-equipped to deliver top-tier care. Together, these seven services form a holistic framework—empowering you, your family, or your organization to thrive.

Pharmacogenetics

Pharmacogenetics (personalized medicine) uses an individual’s genetic makeup—along with environmental and physical factors—to guide medication decisions. With just a simple, noninvasive mouth swab, ViaQuest can analyze your genetic profile to better understand how your body processes different medications. This helps ensure you receive the right dosage and least harmful side effects, all tailored to your unique biology.

Why It Matters
Traditional prescribing can sometimes be trial-and-error, leading to suboptimal results, uncomfortable side effects, or unwanted hospital readmissions. By removing that guesswork, ViaQuest’s pharmacogenetics program improves overall quality of life and empowers patients to stay alert, engaged, and safe from unnecessary drug interactions.

The ViaQuest Difference: A Brief Case Study

After months of fatigue and heightened anxiety, one patient discovered her medication simply wasn’t compatible with her genetic profile. Through ViaQuest’s pharmacogenetic testing, a more suitable dosage and medication were identified. Soon, she was more energetic, experienced fewer side effects, and was able to fully participate in family activities—something she thought was lost forever

Ready to explore personalized medication options that fit your genetic profile? Reach out to ViaQuest to learn more about our pharmacogenetics program.

Deaf Services

ViaQuest is dedicated to providing compassionate care for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf low vision, deaf-blind, or CODAs, ensuring they receive culturally competent mental and behavioral health services. With specialized staff and advocates, we bridge language and cultural barriers to make high-quality care accessible.

Why Specialized Care Matters
Deaf and hard of hearing communities face unique challenges in accessing mental health treatment. Research shows higher rates of mental health concerns among this population, yet service gaps remain due to communication barriers. ViaQuest aims to close this gap by offering therapeutic behavioral support (TBS), psychiatric medication management, and pharmacogenetic testing designed for deaf and signing clients.

Partnerships
Our Deaf Services Team collaborates with organizations such as Ohio School for the Deaf (OSD), Deaf Services Center (DSC), and Columbus Colony Elderly Care, among others, to ensure a wide continuum of care.

If you or a loved one is deaf or hard of hearing and need accessible mental health support, contact ViaQuest’s Deaf Services team for individualized assistance.

 Marriage & Family Therapy

ViaQuest’s Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program supports couples, families, and individuals looking to nurture healthier relationships. Whether you’re navigating the early stages of marriage, coping with mental illness within the household, or adjusting to fostering or adoption, our licensed therapists can help.

How It Works
By encouraging family member participation in sessions, we foster communication, trust, and coping strategies for everyone involved. Our MFT clinicians receive specialized training to assist families with dual diagnoses (mental illness alongside developmental or intellectual disabilities), ensuring every person’s needs are addressed comprehensively.

Ready to strengthen family bonds or work through challenges together? Contact ViaQuest about our Marriage & Family Therapy program.

 Facility Services

ViaQuest partners with nursing and assisted living facilities statewide to provide counseling, therapeutic behavioral support (TBS), mental health nursing, and psychiatric medication management. We work directly with each facility’s residents, billing services through Medicaid or other insurance.

Our Approach
All staff undergo trauma-informed care training and specialized instruction on PDPM and CMS quality measures. We aim to help facilities achieve measurable improvements in resident well-being and facility quality scores.

  • Assessment: Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations guide individualized treatment planning.
  • Counseling: Licensed therapists provide individual or group therapy in flexible settings (facility, office, or community).
  • Medication Management: For eligible clients, including those with intellectual/developmental disabilities or in our Deaf Services program.
  • Therapeutic Behavioral Support: Day-to-day skills training, coping mechanisms, and community resource coordination.

Temporary In-Patient Care
We partner with select nursing facilities to provide short-term (1–5 days) in-patient care. These stays are fully covered under the patient’s hospice benefit and can be arranged quickly in emergencies. By allowing caregivers a brief break, our respite care ultimately helps them return with renewed energy and presence.

Through a comprehensive training program emphasizing compassion and respect, they provide practical assistance and meaningful companionship—whether it’s reading to a patient, preparing small meals, or simply lending a listening ear.

Variety of Opportunities
Volunteers can serve in patient care, office support, or by sharing unique talents (e.g., music, crafting, pet therapy). Their presence gives caregivers a needed break, and their personal touch adds warmth to a difficult journey.

Interested in becoming a hospice volunteer? Contact ViaQuest Hospice to learn how you can make a difference.

Advance Directives

Advance Directives allow individuals to clearly document end-of-life preferences before they can no longer speak for themselves. By specifying the level of care desired—such as resuscitation wishes, feeding tubes, or pain management—families gain peace of mind and avoid last-minute decision-making.

Legal & Personal Clarity
In addition to choosing a healthcare proxy or durable power of attorney, you can prepare a living will that reflects your values and priorities. ViaQuest encourages patients to complete their state-specific forms, sign and notarize them, and share copies with loved ones and providers.

Have questions about Advance Directives or need assistance completing the forms? Reach out to us for guidance and resources.

Reducing Hospital Stays

Frequent hospital visits can be stressful and isolating for both patients and families. ViaQuest’s hospital readmission prevention program helps keep patients at home by offering proactive, around-the-clock support and emergency medication delivery—no ambulance ride required.

How We Help

  • Symptom management and close collaboration with physicians
  • Education on medication usage and side effects
  • 24/7 on-call nurses to address urgent needs
  • Intensive in-home care (up to 24 hours/day) for acute symptom management

By minimizing hospital admissions, we help preserve a calmer, more familiar environment at a time when comfort is paramount.
